January 2002
Ladies and Gentlemen,
Dear Readers and Friends of Laser Medicine,
I am very happy that we are doing well. Never mind how
immodest this may sound, however it is true, and I am convinced that it is
mainly thanks to you, readers, authors, editorial board, webmaster, and
everybody else helping us, or only keeping the fingers crossed. Just imagine
what a great doping it is catching incidentally in an experts` debate words:
"... but it has already been in Laser Partner, it`s no news...", or reading at the end of a scientific paper among
other references: "Laser Partner,
volume, number...".
Laser Partner has been issued since as long as the last
century, its first number being dated October 1999. In 2000 Laser Partner
obtained the official ISSN code for its Czech and in 2001 for the English
version. Today`s Laser Partner is an official newsletter of the Society
for the Use of Laser in Medicine and, above all, it is being published
with official scientific support of the European Medical Laser Association
(EMLA).
Laser Partner brings bilingual surveys on the use of laser in
individual medical specialties, introduces interesting novelties in laser
medicine, presents important case histories, deals with theory and practice of
laser therapy. Today`s Laser Partner represents an interesting and plentiful
source of information for all those who are engaged in laser medicine. Apart
from the internet, it is also possible to subscribe to Laser Partner and have
individual papers sent, and collect them in a special file.
If you like Laser Partner, tell everybody. If you don`t, tell
us, and let us know what you miss in it. Thank you and the Committee of the Society for the Use
of Laser in Medicine for support.
I am looking forward to further laser partnership.

Dear Colleagues,
Today you have in your hands a journal
devoted to laser techniques in medicine. We are convinced that it will graduate
into an interesting periodical which will be able to contribute to exchange of
experience between individual offices, cliniques and colleagues, as well as to
conveyance of news in our branch. On behalf of the whole of the Committee of the
Czech Society for the Use of Laser in Medicine I wish this periodical a long and
fruitful life.
Ass. Prof. Ladislav Horak, M.D.
Chairman of the Czech Society
for the Use of Laser in
Medicine
Dear Colleagues,
Having been asked by LASER PARTNER journal, I am sitting
at my computer in order to put down a few lines for its editorial. On this
occasion I recall my first laser, my first therapeutic attempts with the unit as
well as my delight when I found out that it really works! And thus I had started
gaining my first experience, knowledge, contacting other colleagues …
And I have always made myself sure about one non-changing truth, that there
is never enough information. Therefore I would like to thank those, who took up
the work on the project of this journal, for doing so. Only those of you, who
had ever done such an imprudence, are able to appreciate all the work and
efforts behind (just imagine persuading authors for their papers!). I want to
wish them to keep this imprudence in their minds and let them never loose it.
Today you have in your hands a journal devoted to laser techniques in
medicine. We are convinced that it will graduate into an interesting periodical
which will be able to contribute to exchange of experience between individual
offices, cliniques and colleagues, as well as to conveyance of news in our
branch. For the journal, our pray is let it bring you
more and more new information so that you can always say to yourselves after
having read it: „Oh my, I have not known that.“ And for us, who have
undertaken to contribute an article from time to time, our papers be new indeed.
