January 2003
Ladies and Gentlemen,
Dear Readers and Friends of Laser Medicine,
Laser Partner has entered the fifth year of its existence. This gives us the
right to declare that we have passed all "teething troubles", however
there is no time to rest on our laurels. Quite the reverse, we are a magazine
which has made a name for itself, having its circle of regular readers and
subscribers and, hopefully, going to gain new ones. Fruitful co-laboration of
Laser Partner with Czech Society for the Use of Laser in Medicine (a branch of
the Czech Medical Society) as well as scientific patronage of European Medical
Laser Association have contributed to its quality.
The orientation of our magazine has closely predetermined its contents. Laser
medicine is a highly interesting interdisciplinary branch, reaching from a
country GP`s office up to a unique highly specialized clinical center.
Combination of practical medicine with high tech has its attraction, the limits
of cognition opening very fast. Therefore it is not easy to satisfy and attract
everyone. Even though, Laser Partner has accepted the challenge in order to
continue in bringing its readers novelties of laser medicine, interesting
methods and case histories, specialization overviews, comparative studies,
theoretical and practical issues of laser medicine etc.
I hope we will manage to do well, for this is actually the goal of the entire
editorial board, the work of which I highly appreciate. However, this cannot be
achieved on our own. Stay "tuned" for the future, read us, write us,
comment us, keep your fingers crossed for us ...
Thank You

Dear Colleagues,
Today you have in your hands a journal
devoted to laser techniques in medicine. We are convinced that it will graduate
into an interesting periodical which will be able to contribute to exchange of
experience between individual offices, cliniques and colleagues, as well as to
conveyance of news in our branch. On behalf of the whole of the Committee of the
Czech Society for the Use of Laser in Medicine I wish this periodical a long and
fruitful life.
Ass. Prof. Ladislav Horak, M.D.
Chairman of the Czech Society
for the Use of Laser in
Medicine
Dear Colleagues,
Having been asked by LASER PARTNER journal, I am sitting
at my computer in order to put down a few lines for its editorial. On this
occasion I recall my first laser, my first therapeutic attempts with the unit as
well as my delight when I found out that it really works! And thus I had started
gaining my first experience, knowledge, contacting other colleagues …
And I have always made myself sure about one non-changing truth, that there
is never enough information. Therefore I would like to thank those, who took up
the work on the project of this journal, for doing so. Only those of you, who
had ever done such an imprudence, are able to appreciate all the work and
efforts behind (just imagine persuading authors for their papers!). I want to
wish them to keep this imprudence in their minds and let them never loose it.
Today you have in your hands a journal devoted to laser techniques in
medicine. We are convinced that it will graduate into an interesting periodical
which will be able to contribute to exchange of experience between individual
offices, cliniques and colleagues, as well as to conveyance of news in our
branch. For the journal, our pray is let it bring you
more and more new information so that you can always say to yourselves after
having read it: „Oh my, I have not known that.“ And for us, who have
undertaken to contribute an article from time to time, our papers be new indeed.
